With the conclusion of the Long Island Junior Soccer League Spring Season on June 22, the LIJSL would like to congratulate the Brentwood Cosmos, a Boys-Under-14 team coached by Manny Mendez, and Farmingdale United, a Girls-Under-11 side coached by Brian Mulcahy, for capturing the Triple Crown.

Every spring, the LIJSL's 1,500 teams from Woodhaven in western Queens to the east end of Long Island set taking the Triple Crown as their ultimate goal. These two squads defied the long odds and took first place in all three jewels of the Triple Crown: the State Cup, the Waldbaum's Challenge cup competition and LIJSL division play. Both Brentwood and Farmingdale won nearly all of the 18 matches that they played this spring.
