Farmingdale Rotary Club President-elect Prakash Pisipati ran this meeting. His first official act was to install new member Joan Flamenbaum. Joan is a realtor who was brought in by Sal Nicosia. She has done many community service activities and received a standing ovation from the Rotarians.

The June 11 meeting's speaker was author and educator Jim Ryan. Jim opened his talk with a song and closed with a song, both rendered while playing the guitar.

Jim Ryan is a past president and member of the Northport Rotary. He counsels inmates at the Yaphank jail on theories of personal development. His theme was positive and happy thinking. As Abe Lincoln said: "Most people are about as happy as they want to be." Bill Carman responded for the Club and thanked the speaker for his insights.
