Freshman Victoria Kornfeld pitched a no hitter for the Farmingdale High School Junior Varsity Softball team on May 8 versus Oceanside. They won 3-0 with Kornfeld striking out 13 batters. She also pitched a no hitter against Baldwin earlier in the year and has pitched two one hitters. The junior varsity team, under the leadership of Coach Passante, has amassed a record of 11-6 going into the last week of the season. Having moved up a conference, four of their losses were to higher division teams. It has been an overall team effort with the young ladies playing fine defense and providing very timely hitting throughout the year. Lisa Duddy, Amanda Lubliner, Emily Dorso and Kristie Summus provided many key hits throughout the season. Despite some injuries the girls rallied and played very well. Also contributing throughout the season were: Jennifer Jacobs, Katie Ciccarelli, Denise Dessel, Nicole Hayden, Liliana Kinney, Johanna Klein,Lauren Lynch, Amanda Minolt, Nicole Pelligrino, Amanda Rivera and Amanda Simms.
