On April 7, the Village of Farmingdale held a swearing-in ceremony for its newly elected and appointed officials.

Trustee Ralph Ekstrand, Mayor Starkie, Trustee Bill Barrett and Judge Nicosia.

New Mayor George "Butch" Starkie and Trustees Bill Barrett and Ralph Ekstrand took the oath of office, followed by new Deputy Mayor Pat Christiansen and newly appointed Trustee Cheryl Parisi. All proudly received the oath of office from Judge Nicosia in front of an audience that extended into the corridor.

Mayor Starkie then performed his first official act by issuing the oath of office to new Fire Commissioner Bruce Blovsky and new Fire Commissioner Chairman Russ Carpenter.
