Congratulations to Farmingdale athletes Franklin Diaz, Joan Ackerman and Michelle Ackerman, and super volunteer Alice Long of Farmingdale, each of whom was presented with an Award for the year 2007 by the Greater Long Island Running Club.

Franklin, whose recent credits include finishing first overall in the Wantagh Snowball Run and the Carter DeLuca Farrell & Schmidt Ho Ho Ho Holiday 5K Run, was the Club's Bronze Medal overall champion. Joan scored as the winner in the 65-69 age group, and Michelle was the Club's Female Racewalk Champion for 2007. Alice was one of the recipients of the Mary Ann von der Heydt Service Awards. All the Awards were presented by Club President Mike Polansky at the Club's Dec. 18 Meeting.

Joan and Michelle also co-chaired the Collation Committee that did such an incredible job of providing the Holiday refreshments for the meeting.
