A first time candidate, Cinelli is involved in the St. Kilian's CYO leagues. He said he is running because he isn't happy with the job that the current administration has done and he would like to bring change to the village.

"I would like to bring change to the village starting by repealing the right to health benefits to the entire board of trustees," he stated.

A village resident since 1989, Cinelli also said he would bring back stores to Main Street.

"Let's bring back the proud days of Farmingdale, and do away with the days of Fineingdale," Cinelli said, quoting his campaign slogan.

Cinelli is currently the ecommerce manager for The Country Group.

Campaign management is currently working on constructing the campaign website www.geocities.com/cinelliformayor.

According to Village Clerk Dave Smollett residents cannot officially file petition for candidacy until Feb. 5, 2008. The Farmingdale Observer is reporting on candidates as they inform the paper of their candidacy.

Current Mayor George Graf, who is running on the Farmingdale Family Party line, and Trustee George "Butch" Starkie, who is running on the Green Leaf Party line, have announced candidacy for mayor.
