Following their undefeated 2006 season, the 11-year-old Hawks won their first playoff game of 2007 with a convincing 20-0 victory over the Bellmore Braves. The defense once again held the opponent scoreless - the fifth time this season, and the offense rolled up three touchdowns against a big Bellmore defense. Some highlights of the game were Curtis Jenkins' punt return for a touchdown and his acrobatic, one-handed sideline catch, Thomas Kennedy's catch and run on a perfect pass from quarterback Vinny Quinn, and Dallas Creamer's catch and run on a sideline pass from Quinn for a big gain. Joe Lee had some crushing blocks out of the backfield, and the offensive line was anchored at center by Mike Callahan, and featured great blocking by Thomas Ammirati, Henry Cananilla, Peter Cohen, Dallas Creamer, Kevin Vandermark, and Jack Gallagher. The defense stifled the Braves all day, especially with key stops in short yardage situations and featured great tackling by Curtis Jenkins and Thomas Ammirati, as well as Dylan Smith, Joe Lee, Justin Henry, and Tim Zehentner. Thomas Celenza, Andrew Oppedisano, Ryan Stryska, and Chris Oppedisano also put in solid efforts in this well-rounded win.

This past Sunday, the 9-year-old Farmingdale Hawks game beat the Garden City Thunder 20-6 to advance to the semi-finals.

Brandon Bustamante, Taj Penn and Keyshawn Petit all made key plays in the game's first drive, forcing Garden City to punt. Quarterback T.J. Greco and the Hawks' offense put together an eight-play drive on its first series, keyed by the blocking of linemen Andre Gomez, Devin Sellitti, Vincent Fisher and Steven Dentato but a turnover left the game tied at 0.

Patrick Albert, Matt Kleinhans, Connor Nelson and Charlie Tomassetti made key contributions as the defense forced another G.C. punt giving the offense outstanding field position. Myles Mills followed blocks by Chance Creamer, Vincent Calderon and Michael Arpaio for a 22-yard touchdown run and Devante Penn ran in the PAT to provide Farmingdale with a 7-0 halftime lead.

On just the third play of the third quarter, Mills took a pitch 56 yards to the end zone. Devante Penn again added the extra point to give the Hawks a 14-0 lead.

Mills scored his third touchdown of the day to cap an 11-play drive that ensured the Hawks' first playoff victory. Ryan Odabasi, Dylan Charleston, Ken Mott and Bryne Lanham all contributed to the outstanding offensive line play. Mills led the offense with 120 yards on 10 carries while Dylan Fitzgerald (seven carries, 54 yards) and Devante Penn (11 carries, 61 yards) made great runs all day long.
