The Lady Jaguars played an impressive game against the Lady Ravens. Fantastic flag grabs by Kym, Shannon, Courtney, Laura, and Chelsea who anchored the defense. Shannon, Laura, and Kym piled up big yardage with nifty runs to keep the offense moving. A key interception by Courtney and terrific touchdowns by Jess and Emily kept the Lady Jaguars in the game.
The Browns completed an undefeated season with a wind blown victory over the Giants. The offense was quarterbacked by Maggie with touchdowns by Karlee, Carrie, Michaela and Amanda. The defense scored with a safety by Lauren and an interception return for a touchdown by Gina. Excellent defensive pressure was applied by Marissa and Jaime who pulled flags from beginning to end. Final score Browns 34 - Giants 6.
The Ravens comeback was just short against the Cardinals. The offense was led by "double trouble" Sean and Tyler Moloney (each with a touchdown ), Jack Livingston (touchdown ) and Connor Hess (touchdown ). Nick Carbone picked off a pass to set up a Saints score and Nick Fiorentino, Chris Natale and Joe "Hollywood" Dwyer pulled flags all over the field to keep the game close. Final score: Cards 30, Ravens 25.
The Jets, lifted by Will Hroch back from an injury, squeezed out a slim victory over the Giants. It was an exciting game right up until the last play. The coaches are so proud of the effort and execution by everyone: Sean, Connor, Nic, Vincent, Ryan, Jesse, Anthony P, Anthony Bahsin, Anthony Barbuto, and Spencer.
For the Giants, both passing and catching were phenomenal this week showing how much the players have learned this season. Everyone was a star on defense pulling flags all over the place. The offense was led by Jake, Kevin, Joe, and Matthew with great runs. Michael scored a touchdown dodging the Jets' defense and running the length of the field.
The amazing Browns came from behind against the Jaguars. There was incredible running by Kevin DiLeonardo, who scored two touchdowns. The Browns' defense kept the Jaguars scoreless in the second half. Michael A'Hearn made two terrific defensive plays in the last 18 seconds of the game, which helped seal the win. The coaches and parents are all proud of the great team spirit and effort.
It was a very windy day, but the Jaguars aerial assault was not hampered. The touchdown twins Nick Cappellino and Matthew McCarthy hooked up for the game's first two scores. There was a fantastic catch by Brandon McGlynn for some long yardage and Ryan Smith used the old screen pass for a big gain. Great passing by Chris Stauber. The coaching staff of the Jaguars' was very proud of the entire team. The game ball was presented to Chris Stauber.
The Saints and Colts played a fantastic game with the Colts coming up with a big 24-19 win. Congrats to Connor, Jack, Peter, Robert, Frank, Luke and Anthony for an impressive game and season.
For the Saints, Kevin McHugh (touchdown ) and Kyle McGuinness shared the play calling duties at quarterback and Paul DeSimone (two touchdowns) led the offense. On "D" it was the all around tough play of Peter Bonadonina, Chris Moloney, Sean Kildare, Ryan Goldberg, Nick Bhashin and Patrick Quinn that helped keep the Saints in the game.
The Jags finished the regular season with a hard fought 25-12 win over a tough Browns team. Standout defense by Joe Costa and offense supported by Michael Lynch's three touchdowns.
Donny Rubbo and Nick Trifoli each had key receptions and Bryan Labas added several clutch running plays as the Giants held off the Jets 21-20. Matt Draghi had two long touchdown receptions and Anthony Gagliardi added a long touchdown run as well.
The Jaguars battled their way to a 25-6 win over the Browns. Matt Hurwitz led the way on offense with two touchdowns. Mike Tristano and Boo Boyle rounded out the scoring. Boo Boyle captained a stingy defense that only allowed one touchdown all day.
The Giants and the Jets battled in a well fought game. Dominick Leo threw a touchdown pass to Bobby Matson. The Giants also scored when Nick Albarracin tossed a touchdown pass to Michael Smith. The Giants played great defensive in the second half led by Kyle Reda and Jake Asman. All around effort was displayed by Aaron Tucker, Xavier Sanabria and Matt Carlin in a 19-6 Giants victory.
The Cardinals returned to winning form with a 48-20 win over the Saints. PJ Spadalik passed for three touchdowns; one each to James Haraden and Richie Sullivan, as well as scoring two times himself from passes thrown by Richie. Nick Eustaquio and James also scored on PATs. Richie opened up the second half scoring with a gorgeous length of the field run. The defense clamped down in the second half, led by James, Jack Garner, Dom Mayo, Frank Zazzarino and Andrew Hanc. PJ sealed the win with an interception in the end zone and returned it the length of the field.
The Colts finished the season on a high note as Joe Valente hit Brian Tinney with a touchdown pass on the final play of the game to give the Colts a 31-26 win over the Browns. After starting with five straight losses, the Colts have now won three in a row. That touchdown catch was the fourth on the day for Brian. Joe also threw a touchdown and an extra point to Nathan Kircheim. On defense, Chris Witt had four sacks to help in the win.
The Seahawks ended their impressive regular season with a hard fought win over the Jets. Vincent Mavaro started the scoring with a long touchdown run. Tom Ferrigno hit Brian Mazza with two touchdown passes while Andrew Presta turned in several nice receptions. On defense, Joe McBane, Billy Pickett and Prateek Khurana held down the Jets.
