2007 Has been a great year for myself and the Over the Hill Gang (OTHG). Being inducted into the OTHG Hall of fame with Big (Al) Palleschi in front of all the members at the Awards Party was a great honor.

The Newsday article They (Still) Have Game by John Hanc was awesome. John pictured the league for what it is, a bunch a guys playing a game they love and having fun doing it.

The OTHG (established 1975) is recognized as the first modern senior softball league in the USA. This is a testament to all the former and present board members, managers and players who, with their friendships and camaraderie built a league of their own.' This year we raised $11,500 for our charity, Little Jake.

Next year with the Ellsworth Allen Park expansion in sight our project is to inquire about electronic score boards, a new playing surface and lights. We are fortunate to be in the Town of Oyster Bay and have a supervisor like John Venditto who, for the last 25 years, has been a true friend and proponent of the OTHG.

A great way to pay tribute to John is to tell your family and friends to support John and his team: Joe Belesi, Joe Muscarella, Anthony Macagnone, Rose Marie Walker, Steve Labriola and Jim Stefanich in the upcoming election being held on Nov.6.

Jim Reilly, president of the Over the Hill Softball Gang
