The Farmingdale Titans 5/6 team starred in their own version of Friday Night Lights and emerged victorious by a score of 18-12 against a tough West Babylon squad. What made the win most rewarding was that each player contributed to the win.
Following the blocking of Sean Carney and Matt Bocchino, Justin Steinheimer capped a long drive with a one-yard blast. In a highlight film-worthy run down the sidelines, Anthony Ferrara burst through a hole created by offensive linemen Giovanni Barroso and Timmy Muldoon, broke two tackles and found the end zone for another score. Not to be outdone, the game's leading tackler and rusher, Matt Olbeter, scored from 28 yards out.
On the defensive side of the ball, Steve Donnelly and Naasir Bradley formed a wall at the line of scrimmage, and often found their way into their opponent's backfield before the ball was even handed off. Sean Gillman, David Torres and Mike Grossmann played the linebacker position like they had been playing it for two decades, let alone just two games. Safety Jack Andros played a great center, making sure that no opponent made it past him.
