Opinion

I recently needed the services of a Notary Public, but could not find one. I tried the Farmingdale Library and was told, "She's here on Saturday, but call first to make sure." I tried Roslyn bank, no luck. I tried a local pharmacy - none on staff. Years ago you could always depend on someone in the pharmacy or bank to be a notary. A friend told me that her library has a notary on staff and available all week - why can't we have our library have a staff member get their notary license so one is almost always available? This is something we may only need a few times in our lifetimes, but when we need it, we need it now.

I just happen to be a notary, but can't notarize my own signature.
