The Jaguars made it to the final round of the Town of Hempstead High School League after they defeated the LI Riptides the week before. The Jaguars, seeded second played the first seed in the other division, East Rockaway. The East Rockaway program was highly favored due to their success this past year, winners of the LI championship and making it to the state finals. Behind the pitching of Stephanie Ringbauer and the catching of Kelly Ann Keenan, the Jaguar team put together a big win 11-3 that landed them into the final game. They provided great defense, hot bats, and smart base running.

The next match up was against HSB, the team from Holy Trinity whose program has won the States in the Catholic School League this past year. Moreover, Holy Trinity has won the States more than any other Catholic school program. The Jaguars took the early lead 2-0. Then Holy Trinity tied it, went ahead 4-2. The Jaguars threatened but were only able to score one more run. The final score was 6-3 behind the pitching of Gina Gradiano and relief of Stephanie Ringbauer. The director, Barbara Simms, complimented the team and stated that Farmingdale is the talk of the league. No one expected the Jaguars to beat the Riptides or the East Rockaway team and make it to the finals.

For a team that started to play established travel organizations last year, that experience set the stage for the success this year. The improvement has been tremendous in each player. They never gave up, chipped away each inning, and won many games. The Jaguars final record in the high school league was 7-4-1. They finished second out of 11 programs. Overall, for the summer the Jaguars were 15-8-2.
