Opinion

(Ed. Note: The following letter was sent to Ms. Kathy Banicki, Long Island Blood Service Manager or Present Manager, Mrs. Eileen Donohue, Bulletin/Publicity - Church Bulletin and is printed here at the author's request.)

After eight years as chairman of the St. Kilian Blood Drive, I regretfully have decided the blood drive of May 6 was my last as chairman.

Brian Leger, member of the Knights of Columbus, has volunteered to be the next chairman.

Brian is an energetic, bright young man who will be very successful in this new role. I will be available to help Brian in any way if he needs help.

I would like to thank Father Flynn, the clergy of St. Kilian and all of the members of the KOC and VFW who have helped and cooperated in making the blood drives a huge success. It was great working with all of those involved. Note that during these past eight years, we collected more than 1,000 pints of blood!

Good luck and may God bless you and all of us.
