Carl H. Hauss, of Farmingdale, died unexpectedly on June 25, 2007. Husband of Kathy. He will be missed by his many friends. Retired Suffolk County Health Dept. chemist. Sophie Jaekel (nee Kolodnik), of Hartsville, SC (formerly of East Meadow) died on June 20, 2007 in her 84th year. She was predeceased by her husband Henry and their granddaughter Sheri Manning. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sadauskas (Jerry) of Hartsville, Susan Lindner (James) of Oceanside; four grandchildren, Patti Harmon (Mark) of Tampa, FL, Kristi Sadauskas of Ewing, NJ, Christin Lindner of Edinburgh, Scotland and Matthew Lindner of Merrick. She also leaves behind four great-granddaughters, Ashley and Emily Manning, Goshen, NY, and JunWei and HuiXian Harmon both of Tampa, FL. Sophie was the manager of the Fur Salon of Mays Dept. Store, Levittown, until its closing. She then became known as the "Dollhouse Lady" at Shopper's Village, West Hempstead. Sophie provided handmade dollhouses and furnishings to many little girls across Long Island. She will be sorely missed by her family. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home.
