Farmingdale High School is proud to announce Sean Feiner as valedictorian. Sean is a young man with an insatiable hunger for knowledge. He demonstrates a great sense of enthusiasm for all that he does, and has been recognized several times for a wide range of different awards. Sean's work, entitled, "Not So Tasty: Synthesis and Crystallization of Heteroleptic Cerium Sandwich Porphyrinate," was recognized as a Semi-Finalist for the Intel Competition. Sean is also the Lieutenant Governor in New York State for the Key Club.
Sean will be attending Brown University in the fall majoring in Bio-Chemical Engineering.
Salutatorian for Farmingdale High School is Krystal Cantos. Krystal is a well-rounded student. She maintains superb academics while participating in numerous extra-curricular activities. Krystal has been a four-year member of the Girls' Varsity Soccer Team, and was named team captain in her senior year. The National Honor Society recognizes Krystal not only as a member but as its historian as well. As a member of the choir, Krystal has performed at the All State Festival receiving a perfect score of 100 in her vocal performance. This year, Krystal has been named as a National Hispanic Scholar and has been honored with the Young Woman of Achievement Award, which is sponsored by the National Organization of Women.
Krystal has been accepted to Columbia University, Princeton University and Harvard University. She has not yet made her decision as to where she will be attending, but she is leaning toward a major in Mathematics.
