Richard Rose: Long Island's Anchor
Longtime Farmingdale resident Richard Rose, who anchors the news on WLNY-TV 55 was introduced to being in front of the camera early on. As a youth in the 1960s, Rose starred in national commercials and said felt a little awkward, but he always "liked to perform."

FBHS Has New Display at Library: The Way It Was
The Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society has a new display in the Farmingdale Public Library called, ìThe Way It Was.î It deals with some businesses that were here in the late 1800s to the 1940s. It portrays the jobs people had to make a living. An article, written by William Johnston, Farmingdale Village historian, is above the display case in the lobby of the library. It describes the jobs and the number of people who did each type of work. Most of the working people then were still farmers, but see how that began to change.

Lady Dalers Varsity Softball Wins Conference
This year's varsity softball team under the direction of Ms. Lundy and Mr. O won the League I Conference III title for the second straight year. Its League record was 13-1. Ms. Lundy told the girls this was one of her best teams in the last 10 years.
