James Robert Strejlau, of Bethpage, died unexpectedly at age 50 on March 29, 2007. He leaves behind two children, Christopher James and Allison Rose, in the care of their maternal grandparents, Anni and Manfred Rose of Hicksville, and his former wife, Janet Strejlau. He is survived by his sister, Cathy Stewart (Mike), brother Robert Strejlau, nephews Gavin and Brogan Stewart of Bethpage. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Patricia. He is also survived by his aunts and uncle: Alice and Jack Scala, Mary Brogan and the late James, Barbara and the late Richard Strejlau, Dee Strejlau and the late Thomas, along with many cousins.
