There seems to be a lot of concern about cell towers, traffic calming and garaging rules in Farmingdale. I never hear anyone complain about the poor state of our village sidewalks. It is quite impossible to wheel a baby carriage any distance in the village without coming upon a piece of property with no sidewalk. I'm not talking about a walk in disrepair, although there are some of those as well. Here I'm addressing properties that have no sidewalk built, just a pile of weeds, grass, or dirt.

Our village needs to address this situation. There may already be a village code on the books requiring sidewalks. If there is, let's start enforcing it. If there isn't, our trustees should get one on the agenda. It's for the good of all.
