Irene A. Kislowski, of Houston, TX (formerly of Farmingdale), died on January 15, 2007. Predeceased by her husband, Mieczyslaw "Mitchell". Mother of Richard, Peter and Mitchell. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Committal service and interment took place January 23 at Calverton National Cemetery. Catherine L. Daum, of Bethpage, died at her daughter's home in Fairport, NY on January 17, 2007. Wife of the late Edwin. Mother and mother-in -law of Edwin, Annette and Nicholas Markakis, Martha and Joseph Sitelli, and the late Frances Yzuel. Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Mass was held January 20, at St. Martin of Tours RC Church with interment following at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Burke, of Scranton, PA (formerly of Lindenhurst, NY), died at the age of 28 on January 14, 2007. Daughter of Donna and Mike. Sister of Melissa and Michael. Granddaughter of Helen and the late John Farley, Evelyn and the late Donald Burke. Loved by her aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Mass was held January 19 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church, Lindenhurst, with interment following at Breslau Cemetery. Alfred R. Fernandedez Jr., of Bethpage, died unexpectedly at the age of 45 on January 20, 2007. Husband of Joanne. Father of Paul and Christina. Son of Alfred Fernandez, Sr. and Carol Murphy. Brother of Jeanne LaRosa and John Fernandez. Grandson of Frank Strohm. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Mass was held January 24 at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, with interment following at St. Charles Cemetery. Margaret "Peggy" Ziti, age 69, of Farmingdale (formerly of Copiague), died on January 20, 2007 after a long battle against cancer. Retired from Newsday's advertising department after 13 years of service. Predeceased by her husband Joseph on November 18, 2006. Mother of Joseph (the late Sandra), Edward (Sonoko) and John (Christina). Grandmother of five. Sister of Joan Joy and James Young. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Mass was held January 25 at St. Kilian RC Church, with interment following at St. Charles Cemetery.

Pauline Alena (Kalicky), age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away quietly in her sleep on Jan. 22, 2007 in the Sunrise Assisted Living of Wilmington's Reminiscence Neighborhood. She had previously been a resident at Forwood Manor for four years.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn, where she was a supervisor in the Office of the Comptroller of the City of New York. Those who knew her remember her love of her son, her wonderful sense of humor and her passion for bowling and bingo.

She was predeceased in 1968 by her first husband, Bill Kalicky, and by her second husband, Arthur Alena, in 1996. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Maida Kalicky; and niece, Phyllis Astrella.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Chandler Funeral Home, Wilmington, DE.
