Megan Toth, a resident of Farmingdale, and a junior at Half Hollow Hills High School East, completed the fall season for the Sagamore Rowing Association and the Crew Club of Oyster Bay by garnering two gold medals at the Long Island Frostbite Regatta held on Nov. 11 on Beekman Beach in Oyster Bay. For her first race, Toth was a coxswain for a girl's varsity quad boat, which placed first. In her second race, Toth was a member of the eight-girl varsity boat, which placed first.
This race concludes a very busy fall season, in which the team traveled to Shelton, CT for the Head of the Housatonic Regatta, the King's Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Bridgeport, PA, and participated in two Long Island regattas: the Snowflake Regatta in Riverhead and the Frostbite Regatta in Oyster Bay. Toth captured three bronze medals with her varsity teammates-one each at the Snowflake Regatta, the Head of the Housatonic regatta, and King's Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, where her boat missed first place by one second.
