On June 4, the First Annual Little Louie Memorial Walk was held at the Long Beach Boardwalk. Louis Patrick Cuomo, son of Pat and Erin Cuomo, former residents of Farmingdale, was diagnosed with brain cancer in April 2006, and the original intent of the walk was to help pay for his treatments and needs over the next year. Louie never got the chance to fight through those treatments - he passed away in May, just one month after his original diagnosis. He was 17 months old. The memorial walk was organized by Louie's aunt, Noelle Cutter.

To honor Louie's memory, his mother and father decided to create the Little Louie Foundation, a non-profit charity, and use the money donated to help other families affected by pediatric brain cancer, and to help find a cure for this disease. The Memorial Walk raised over $17,000, thanks to the hard work and support of so many family, friends, local merchants, and even passersby on the boardwalk.

Special thanks to Farmingdale residents Tim and Liz Greco, uncle and aunt to Little Louie, for their successful yard sale on June 24-25.

Despite a weekend of constant rainfall, people came to support the Foundation, and $1,600 was raised. A very special thanks is also extended to Cassie Greco, cousin to Little Louie, who requested, in lieu of birthday presents for her 10th birthday, that people donate to the Little Louie Foundation. She presented her checks in the amount of $145.
