Week two of Farmingdale's PAL-NFL Flag Football League looked very much like week one, great weather and literally dozens of fantastic games. Here are just some of the highlights as reported by coaches around the league.

The Junior Varsity Lady Vikings got their first win with a great team effort. Nicole, Danielle and Alexis had big runs for the team. Kristen returned an interception for a touchdown and Heather and Alyssa led the team in flag pulls.

The Lady Chiefs and Giants met for the first time in what would be another Flag Football Classic. On the first play, Tina handed the ball to Danielle who threw a perfect pass to Jaclyn who ran the entire length of the field for a Chiefs touchdown. This same trio would repeat this same play in the fourth quarter with Jaclyn running for yet another touchdown. Tina scored the second and third touchdowns for the Chiefs running the full length of the field. Katie made a great catch and long run in the third quarter and she threw a perfect pass to Danielle and scored the Chiefs fifth touchdown. Jessica also gained big yardage on a running play and caught a pass from Danielle. Niamh made a key flag pull to stop a Giants play. Final score: Lady Chiefs 32, Lady Giants 34.

The Browns-Chiefs match up turned out to be a defensive struggle. Highlighting defense on both sides were interceptions for the Chiefs by Christina Lopilato, Jesicca Picket, and Jessica Waldman. For the Browns there were interceptions by Elizabeth Yashnyk, Brenna Weill and Jenna Crawford - Crawford ran hers back for a touchdown. The Browns first score was on a pass from Elizabeth Binckes to Jenna Crawford, and second touchdown was on a pass from Binckes to Brenna Weill. The Chiefs scored a touchdown on a pass from Madelyn Reilly to Sarah Hecht. Final score - Brown 18 Chiefs 6.

The Steelers started with the ball against the Giants, but Julia Teller's interception and return made it 7-0 Giants. The Steelers answered with touchdowns by Nadine Hadnagy and Katie Sutherland. Gina Cristallo also pitched in with an interception and touchdown. Giants quarterback Denise Dessel showed she could throw, hitting Teller for a touchdown. Great defense by Lauren Renna, Justine Fernandez, Maggie Fleming, Courtney Hroch and Amrita Mohip who picked off a pass and scored a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Amanda Tutorro scored two touchdowns while Gina Cristallo got another interception. Emily McCann did a great job playing offense and Carrie Godas did an excellent job as the Steelers quarterback. Final score - Steelers 39 Giants 20.

The Peanut Giants and Steelers put on a scoring extravaganza. For the Giants, Dominick Baranello played a magnificent game at quarterback by completing two touchdown passes to Stephen Pantano. Stephen hauled in the passes before turning on the jets and racing to pay dirt both times, the last coming with a spectacular dive into the end zone. Jack Macaluso and Michael Muccio-Schrimpe also dazzled the sellout crowd with long touchdown runs in the game and contributed on defense with big, game-saving "tackles."

Mark Bakich played a solid game on offense, making many smooth snaps to the quarterbacks and he made quite an impact on defense with many of his "tackles" coming behind the line of scrimmage. Luke Morales made a huge "tackle" on defense and he also had a very long run to set up another touchdown. Luke ran out of gas on the 1-yard line and decided to run out of bounds - uncontested - for a little breather. Braden Weill had a couple of sacks and game-busting "tackles" while playing some steady quarterback and contributing a nice run that led to a touchdown. Finally, newcomer Vincent Gagliardi displayed quite an arm at quarterback while flashing some blinding speed on defense in making some nice open field "tackles."

What great weather it was to watch the Jets play the Vikings. Starting with a bang, Jake Formisano ran the ball in for a touchdown. Also running like the wind was Matthew Muccio-Schrimpe. On defense, Michael Thiem grabbed every flag he came across. Apologies for an error in last week. It was Michael Thiem who made the awesome catch and ran it in for a touchdown.

In week two, the Patriots faced off against the Steelers. The Patriots were missing one of their premier players, Nick "Touch Down Twin" Cappellino, but the mighty Patriots proved that one person does not make a team.

The Patriots opened up the running attack, giving the ball to Michael "Downtown" Browne who ripped off a big chunk of yardage. Then Michael Crazy Legs Simmons came in as Quarterback and found Anthony Boomer Barbuto in the end zone for the first touchdown. Later on the Patriots next possession the Boomer at the quarterback spot hands off to Nick Fireball Fiorentino. The Fireball flew down the field cutting through Steelers for a major run. Trevor the Trevornator Clark came in as the quarterback and hands off to Nick the Quick Reid. Nick the Quick ripped off a big chunk of yardage to put the Patriots in the red zone. On the next play, the Patriots moved the Trevornator to Wide Receiver and Crazy Legs came into quarterback, the Trevornator made a move in the end zone and Crazy Legs at the quarterback spot found Clark and threw a perfect strike. Chris the Defender Stauber and Dayna The Scooter D'Antonio with their tremendous defensive play kept the Steelers pinned in their own end zone most of the day. The Patriots late in the game looked for lightning to strike twice, the Patriots used the old double reverse when Nick Fireball Fiorentino took the ball from quarterback handed off to Thomas Lightning Gallo, who took it almost all the way to the end zone. Then the Patriots called on Michael Downtown Browne one more time and he took the ball into the end zone for the final Patriots touchdown of the day.

The Patriots played with passion and determination all day. The parents and coaches, as always were proud of the whole team. Michael Downtown Browne was presented with the Patriots game ball.

It was another great team effort for the Browns. Connor McCann and Jesse Nicolich ran a double-reverse for a first down. Johanna Chernakoff, who showed some great speed, took a hand-off from Robbie Ryan and ran all the way for a touch down. On another series of downs, Thomas Catalano scooted around the left end on a simple hand-off play and scored a touchdown. Billy Andrade, Joe Healey, Andrew D'abbraccio, and Brandon McGlynn each played a great game on both offense and defense, keeping the Colts off balance all game. Robbie Ryan was the rusher and kept the Colts quarterback off balance. Michelle Lapidus was missed by the coaches and the team. Coach Joe and Coach Anthony are very proud of the way the team played and listened.

Way to go Steelers on another amazing victory, 30-13. Nick Bifalco had another all around great game. He took a hand-off from Matt Giocastro and sprinted down the sidelines for a touchdown.

Franco Strocchia took a hand off and ran up the middle for a long TD. And then the passing game took over. Matt G. Played a great quarterback hitting Nicky Seyfert with a long TD pass. Joey hunt also added a nice catch and run for a score. Kevin Mumullo played great defense with another interception and James Cavanaugh had a pick off and played awesome offense. Great team effort.

Although the Giants lost 30-13 against the Steelers, there were still some outstanding plays by the Big Blue. Timothy Dolan scored on a 50-yard pass from Patrick Reilly, followed by a great catch by Connor Costarella for the extra point. On the next possession, Jack Nonnenmann made an amazing catch on a throw from Patrick Reilly for the second touchdown. On defense, Michael Arpaio, Frank Borgi, Michael Flanagan, Richie Kevan and Adam Rosenthal all did their best to grab flags.

The Browns played a strong game in a 40-6 victory over the Giants. The Browns scored on two touchdown runs by Liam Walsh and Brian Tinney. Tinney also connected to Walsh on a pass later in the game for another score. Anthony Galanoudis threw for two touchdowns, hitting Zack Yashnyk and Taylor Grossman. Brett Davies hit Tinney for a touchdown, followed by a pass to Walsh for the extra points. The Browns also showed strong defense with Brett Davies grabbing an interception, and strong flag pulling by James Pich, Paul McHugh, Yashnyk, Davies and Galanoudis.

The Giants couldn't get untracked against an aggressive Browns defense, but still managed numerous highlights. Offensively, Tyler Byrnes and Billy Hassett were the two primary quarterbacks with Raymond Webb turning in his second multi reception performance of the season. Evan Saur accounted for the only Giant scoring drive of the afternoon, when he caught a deflected pass at mid field and ran it back for a touchdown.

Defensively, Rob Tempesta led the way with his first sack of the year, and key "tackles" throughout the afternoon. Although the Giants had trouble stopping the Browns passing game, Dominick Mayo and Jimmy McQuade kept the Browns ground game to minimal gains, forcing the Browns to the air on third and long.

The Raiders defeated the Steelers 33-20 with a great effort on both offense and defense. Mike Neglia threw scoring passes to Frank Pellegrino and Joe DePalma in a tight first half that ended with the Raiders ahead 15-14. The Raiders pulled away in the second half and were able to maintain a tough defensive presence. Prateek Khurana scored on a long run from scrimmage. Nick Eustaquio threw a perfect scoring pass to Neglia, and Mike threw another TD to Frank Pellegrino to close out the Raiders' scoring. Fred Kezer, Andrew Presta, Jack Garner and Robert Warshauer each gave outstanding contributions on both offense and defense. The win evens the Raiders record to 1-1.

For the Steelers, Chris Lopez threw a touchdown pass to Joe Lavista. The two-point conversion gave the Steelers an 8-7 lead. On a double reverse, Chris Lopez scored a touchdown and later Chris intercepted a two point conversion attempt by the Raiders. Shawn Serkisyan scored the final touchdown of the game for the Steelers. Nice job by everyone.

The Patriots-Panthers game was decided by second half heroics. Sean Balsam lofted a 30-yard bomb into the reliable hands of Dustin Muccio-Schrimpe for the winning touchdown. On defense, Joe Morante along with the McKnight boys, Anthony and Bobby, shut the door on the Panthers as the Patriots picked up their second win of the year.

The Chiefs and Colts played what turned into a nail biter for the Chiefs. PJ Spadalik started the Chiefs off with an interception and return for a touchdown. PJ also made two more interceptions. On the Chiefs next drive, Angelo Mauro threw a long lateral to PJ who threw a bomb to Michael Waldman. Michael was caught at the 1-yard line. On the next play, Tyler Sullivan caught a pass in the end-zone for a touchdown. Michael Waldman then ran the ball in for the Chiefs next touchdown. Andrew Phillips then intercepted a pass and ran it back for another touchdown. On the Chiefs next drive, Angelo threw a touchdown pass to Andrew. On the next drive, Mike Castagnaro ran for big yardage, however, the Chiefs were unable to score. In the second half, Brian McGuinness picked off a pass and ran the ball back for a touchdown. With Colts hot on the Chiefs heels, several Chiefs, including PJ, Brian, Mike, and Angelo all made key flag pulls, none bigger than the diving flag pull by Nick Catalano to stop the Colts from scoring.

For the Colts, it was a fantastic comeback attempt that fell one touchdown short after being down 30-12. On offense, the Colts were led by Erik Wolfert with two touchdowns and Anthony Bonilla with second touchdowns, including one on an interception return. Richie Sullivan also caught a nice pass in the corner of the end zone for an extra point. Chris Witt made an impressive catch in traffic to help the Colts' offense. A timely interception by Nathan Kircheim, along with solid play from Matt Lubliner, TJ Knight, Nicky Mio and Matt Podbielak helped make it an exciting game. In the end, the Chiefs were able to hold off the Colts. Final score: Chiefs 30, Colts 25.

Another solid outing for the Jets as they beat the Vikings, 30-18. There were many highlights, but none more impressive than Vincent Mavaro's length-of-the-field sprint to save what seemed like a certain Viking's score. Two plays later, Joe McBane completed the defensive stand with an interception on the goal-line. On offense, Joe Valente was a force at quarterback and at receiver. Andrew Hanc rushed for a pair of touchdown's, while Brian Mazza notched his first career touchdown pass. Jonathan Smalkin and Joe Salonia also played well on both offense and defense for the Jets.

The Vikings are 2- this season after beating the Jets 24-14. This was a strong defensive effort by the Vikings, with a safety by Joe Kennedy and a big interception by Steven Harris. Joe also had two touchdown passes and a touchdown reception. Zachery Pardo had a crucial touchdown catch while Alex Brosnan, Keith McNicholl and George Calvo also contributed scoring plays. George could still be running. Bill Specht and Thomas Pich both played strong defensive games. The team played short-handed and everyone did a great job.

The Steelers suffered their second loss, this time to the well-balanced attack of the Patriots. For the second week in a row, the Steelers fell behind early and could not recover, despite fighting back in the second half. Steeler notables: Steven Kayola four touchdown passes, Ross Flanagan two touchdown receptions, Nico Rivera over 100 yards receiving on six receptions, Danny Castillo one tackle and one interception. Andrew Haas and Jack Persampire both scored their first touchdowns of the season.
