In his first appearance on the mound after suffering an arm fracture, Michael Castagnaro of the 11-year old St. Kilian Yankees pitched a no-hitter in one of the team's best played games to date as they put it all together and walked away with a well-earned 1-0 win against the Connequot Chiefs at their CYA Complex.

The St. Kilian Yankees supported Castagnaro's pitching performance by providing sound defense throughout the game. The infield picked up all but three of the outs, including a double-play, while the outfield tracked down the remaining attempts by the Chiefs to break this no-hitter, including a spectacular diving catch from Chris Crowder in right field.

In their second appearance against the Chiefs the following week, St. Kilian's dominant hitting and sound defense completed the sweep with a commanding 9-4 win. Castagnaro picked up the win, pitching three innings and allowing only one hit. St. Kilian continues its summer play and upcoming fall baseball season in the National Junior Baseball League.
