Farmingdale Remembers is the Summit's annual observance commemorating the events of September 11, 2001. It seeks to honor those members of our community who perished in the Twin Towers, while at the same time paying sincere tribute to those who served so unselfishly in the recovery operation.
This year's observance marks the fifth anniversary of 9/11 and the Summit intends to mark this historic occasion with a ceremony that both honors the past and looks forward with hope to the future. As part of the event, a vial of dust from the World Trade Center will be placed in a special permanent place in the library, serving as a further community reminder of the events of that terrible day.
All residents of the community are urged to participate in Farmingdale Remembers and to join them for refreshments and the Summit meeting that will be held afterward. Please mark your calendars so you can be part of this historic and moving event.
