The Farmingdale Yankees 13-year-old team played a great season in the Babe Ruth League this summer, making it to the Championship, following two outstanding playoff wins. Last Sunday night at Allen Park, the Yankees faced Seaford in the first game, winning 6-3 after being down 3-1. The second game was against the first-place East Meadow Mustangs and the Yankees pulled out an 8-6 win, earning them a spot in the Championship game. The Yankees played hard in the championship, losing only to a team of boys one year older.
The boys played great baseball all season with pitching and infielding by Alex Brosnan, Billy Greuner, Sal Tuttle, George Calvo (who came back in full swing after breaking his nose early in the season); Ryan Orobona and Phil Constantino, along with outfielders Eric Saur, Ryan Lewis and Kevin Pine and catchers Connor Lewis and Mike Palmer.
