(Editor's Note: The Farmingdale Observer was contacted about a letter to the editor in the July 21 issue. Donna Gianino was incorrectly referred to as Donna Gianino-Dickinson in Gary Jambor's letter.)
I am very upset that Gary Jambor had the nerve to print his opinion using Donna Gianino-Dickinson as my last name. I signed my letter in the July 7 edition to the story Drinking After Adult Baseball Games at Allen Park by Donna Gianino. He needs to get his facts straight. Gianino-Dickinson is not and has never been my legal last name. Also, I never mentioned the OTHG baseball league as the players involved. I only used a blue team as being involved. Second of all, if pot smoking and fighting and cursing is going on in the handball courts, shame on Gary Jambor and in the second article written by Michael O'Connell for not getting the problem resolved by calling the 8th Precinct and resolve the problem by enforcing the law. I think it is great that OTHG league does charity work, but what has that got to do with illegal drinking in our parks? I do not have a lot of time on my hands raising three teenage children. I care what is happening in my community since I have lived here for 47 years and there were other calls that night other than myself. You can check it with the operators. My complaints with [County Executive] Suozzi's office and The Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department were justified have been documented not just for me, but by others dating back to last summer. This is why we have a new Town of Oyster Bay Parks Public Safety Department who will now be a presence in our park. Thank you for identifying the name of your league to me.
