A Minute of Farmingdale History
Next year, 2007, will provide a number of anniversaries for Farmingdale for which we are already beginning to plan. They include the 320th year since Thomas Powell and his family began settlement in 1687, the 25th anniversary of our wonderful Village Pops concert series, and Brad DeMilo's 25th year as director of the Pops. Another of these notable events we plan to mark is the 75th anniversary of our Village Hall, whose story I will briefly relate this evening.
Fuschillo, Farmingdale State President Announce $22M for New Facilities at College
"Over the last five years, Farmingdale State has undergone a major transformation. With a student enrollment increase of over 20 percent, additional bachelor's degree programs, the world class Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, and a host of new facilities, Farmingdale State is now one of the major institutions for higher learning on Long Island. This funding represents a major investment by New York State to ensure that Farmingdale State continues to grow and prosper," said Senator Fuschillo.

What can you say about another flawlessly staged event that attracts the best athletes from all over the world to come to Farmingdale? At the risk of being repetitive, "spectacular success" is an understatement! And the success of the 15th annual Nick Katsounis Memorial Wheelchair Championship 10 Kilometer Race was underscored by the fact that it was accomplished in spite of the rain, rain, rain.
FHS Athletes, Coaches Honored at Varsity Awards Ceremony
Congratulations to Farmingdale High School's outstanding athletes. These teams, 24 of which have been named New York State Scholar Athlete Teams for 2005-06, were honored during the district's Varsity Awards Ceremony on June 8.
