Village Homeowner Charged with Arson
According to detectives, at approximately 1:40 p.m. on June 16, Village of Farmingdale Code Enforcement Officers affixed a notice of violation to 379 Staples St. for three separate violations. Subsequently, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a fire occurred at the same location, to which the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office and the Arson/Bomb Squad responded. After investigation it was determined that an ignitable liquid had been poured in the living room of the residence and ignited, setting the house on fire.

Village Pops Concerts Return to Farmingdale June 28
The Village Pops Concerts, directed and founded by former Farmingdale High School music teacher and alumnus Brad DeMilo, are set to begin on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. They will continue each Wednesday for seven consecutive weeks in the gazebo on the Village Green.

Registration Information
St. Kilian CYO will be holding their first registration for girls and boys basketball for the upcoming 2006-07 season on Wednesday, June 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the St. Kilian gym lobby located on Cherry Street in Farmingdale. Children in grades 3-12 are invited to register for competitive play on travel teams representing St. Kilian Parish. Payment of $130, which includes $30 in prepaid raffle tickets, is due at time of registration. Sibling discounts are available. Early registration is encouraged to ensure a spot on a team. All adults interested in volunteering to coach will need to submit background check paperwork and take the parish-mandated VIRTUS training.
