Walk in the Woods Is Walk on the Wild Side
On Sunday June 4, the Friends of the Massapequa Preserve and the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference conducted a guided hike through the woods alongside the Bethpage State Parkway, also known as the Bethpage State Parkway corridor. The purpose of the hike was to raise awareness about an ongoing campaign to have this area declared a New York State Park or a southern extension of Bethpage State Park.

The Runner's Edge in Farmingdale recently hosted a fun run/shoe clinic for participants in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT) Program. Bob Cook, owner of the Runner's Edge, spoke about the importance of proper footwear for effective performance and injury prevention.

Lady Dalers Defeated in Semifinals
No one expected them to get this far. Not to win their division, the county championship or become Long Island champions, but they did. With only three starting seniors and just six seniors on the team, this was a building year for the Lady Dalers. But, with the play from some freshmen like goalie Lauren Maksym and at attack Janine Hillier and many sophomores, it made this team play like champs.
