The Farmingdale Community Summit Council will be holding their fourth annual Expo and Health Fair on Thursday, May 11 at the Farmingdale High School gym from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the many organizations and businesses in our community. Admission is free. You can personally meet with many of the leaders and members of the organizations that make our community so special and see which organization you may want to join. The village is proud to be a charter member of the Summit and we look forward to speaking with you at our table. In addition to the service and sports organizations there will representatives from many health organizations, doctors, hospitals and wellness providers. They will be offering free chiropractic screenings, massage, free blood pressure testing, information booths on nutrition, stopping smoking and senior citizen programs. Various merchants from the community will also be on hand to discuss and demonstrate their services and products. The Farmingdale Public Library, at their table, will also be taking overdue books back with their fines waived, only for this day. Farmingdale School District voters can also register to vote for the upcoming school board and budget vote. The Summit Council will be selling raffles to raise money for their Family Assistance Fund. All funds raised by the Summit are used to fund programs that will serve families in the Farmingdale School District. While the event is not in the village proper, the Summit serves all of the communities that comprise the Farmingdale School District, of which the village is a vital part. I urge all members of our community to come and experience this wonderful event. It is truly a time for all of us to get together and learn more about each other and really see why the area that makes up the Farmingdale School District is so unique.
