Born on June 7, 1925 she was one of nine children of Clemente and Maria Massaro of Massapequa. She graduated from Farmingdale High School in June of 1943 and married her high school sweetheart James Ketcham in May of 1946 right after World War II. They lived on Fulton Street in Farmingdale until 1976 when her husband retired from the Nassau County Police Department at which time they moved to Montauk to live after having been exposed to the ocean beauty of the area during their many family camping trips to Hither Hills State Park.
The Ketchams being an old time Farmingdale family it was with great reluctance that they left. While living in Farmingdale she was very active in both the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She was very community minded and while living in Montauk she served as a trustee of the Fort Hill Cemetery and was an appointed member of the Montauk Citizen's Advisory Committee. However, she was particularly proud of being instrumental in placing the Gazebo on the Montauk Green.
Besides her husband of close to 60 years she is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn, her son James and his wife Elizabeth as well as her four grandchildren Steven, Ronald, Reed and Alyssa. Burial was at the Fort Hill Cemetery in Montauk on April 15.
