After announcing the winners of the March 21 village trustee and justice election, the Farmingdale Village Board of Trustees continued to approve 17 building permits brought before them by Superintendent of Buildings Ron Craig.

Town of Oyster Bay Honors 2006 Women of Distinction
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, together with members of the Town Board, honored 10 extraordinary recipients at the eighth annual Town of Oyster Bay Women of Distinction Awards ceremony, held at Town Hall March 28. The award recognizes the outstanding achievements of women who either live or work in the Town.

A Decade of Charity Softball for Golden Lions
It's been said, success is easy to measure. It is the distance between one's origins and one's achievements. Nearly a decade ago, the visions of creating a softball team dedicated to philanthropic endeavors was launched. The plan was to field a competitive softball team that would grow in spirit and talent. That team became the Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions and their accomplishments include 15-tournament championships and over $685,000 raised for local charities.

Registration Information
Registration for the summer PAL Baseball/Softball program will be held on: Wednesday, April 26, Tuesday, May 2 and Monday, May 8 at Howitt Middle School, East Cafeteria from 7 to 9 p.m. The summer Baseball/Softball season begins July 1 and runs through Sept. 4. It is open to children 5-17 years old. For more information call the PAL clubhouse at 249-6825.
