Green Leaf Party Sweeps Village Election
Starkie, Christiansen, Win Trustee Positions, Nicosia Grabs Village Justice Seat -- Green Leaf Party candidates George "Butch" Starkie and Patricia Christiansen were elected village trustees in the Farmingdale Village election held March 21. Starkie and Christiansen edged out seven village residents vying for two open positions with 510 and 503 votes, respectively. Additionally, Green Leaf Party candidate Salvatore Nicosia was re-elected to his village trustee post, defeating his opponent and Village Justice James L. Breen by a margin of 256 votes. The village has reduced the number of village justice seats from two to one and both Nicosia and Breen sought re-election.

The Farmingdale Library budget vote and election of library trustee is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Registration Information for the 2006 Hawk football and Cheerleading Seasons
Registration for the 2006 Hawk football and cheerleading seasons will be held at Allen Park on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., football: 5-14 years old, cheerleading: 5-13 years old, All-Star Cheerleading: 14-17 years old. Race for Spinal Victory Set for April 30 at Jones Beach
The Long Island Spinal Cord Resource Center (LISCIRC), a project of the Testaverde Fund for Spinal Cord Injury, announced its second annual Race for Spinal Victory - a 5K walk/run and a more challenging 10-mile run to take place on April 30 at Jones Beach. Proceeds of the event will go to fund spinal cord injury research and to support LISCIRC whose focus is on community and family outreach and spinal cord injury education programs.
