Though the Nassau County Legislature was at a standstill for the last month, I am proud of my legislator Dave Mejias for putting his constituents before politics. Mejias has been working for our community throughout this power struggle. Every week I get postcards about meetings he is hosting throughout the area on everything from tax assessments to Medicare and his office has always been extremely helpful. In addition to that I've read in Newsday that he plans to donate his pay from the last month to charity to make up for the inaction of the Legislature. Great job Dave! Keep up the good work.
