As the father of a United States Marine stationed in Iraq, I would like to thank the people of Farmingdale for their kind support and prayers. So many people and organizations have contributed to my son, Eddie. I would especially like to thank the Over the Hill Gang, the American Legion Post 449, North Shore University Hospital at Plainview, Howitt Middle School, and also the owners, employees, and customers of Moby Drugs and Granny O'Shea's Pub. Their continued donations and gifts have been sent to not only my son but to his entire platoon. I have been asked by my son and his fellow Marines of: Weapons Platoon, Alpha Co., Battalion 1/2 Unit 73061, FPO AE 09502-3061, to thank the community and surrounding areas of Farmingdale for their caring generosity and bringing a little bit of home to the sands of Iraq for them. No words can express our gratitude. Letters of support can be sent to the above address: c/o LCPL Edward K. Shillitto.
