The Dec. 20 open meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was the Club's annual awards night, and super athlete Geza Feld of Farmingdale was among those honored for their accomplishments in the year 2005. The meeting was held in the new auditorium at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library.

Geza was the club's champion in the 70-74 age group for the third year in a row, having won his age group in every Long Island race he entered this year. Among Geza's other incredible accomplishments is the fact that he has run every day - without even missing one - for the past 29 years.
"Geza is one of the most accomplished athletes I know," said GLIRC President Mike Polansky. "So it is a special pleasure for us to present these prestigious awards to him."
Thanks go to three other Farmingdale residents - Joan Ackerman and Michael and Michelle Nusblat for putting together the holiday collation that enabled club members to fully enjoy the meeting and awards presentation.
