Farmingdale Boy Honored by North Shore Animal League
Each year, North Shore Animal League hosts a luncheon to present awards to people for their service and dedication. On Oct. 26, the Fifth Annual Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon honored Steven Garguilo as their first Junior Philanthropy.

Local Student Earns Triple Honors for Cross-Country Running
Michelle Kuchinskas, a local Farmingdale student who is currently a freshman attending Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville, recently received three awards for her participation on the school's cross country team. For her efforts on the JV team, Michelle received the prestigious Coach's Award for her dedication and teamwork as well as for her earning a medal in every meet this fall. At the Varsity awards dinner held at Holy Trinity in early December, Michelle received a Varsity letter for her participation on the Girls Varsity Cross Country team at the city CHSAA finals in November. She was also honored as the team Scholar-Athlete, which is only awarded to a select group of athletes who have maintained an average of 95 or better. Michelle held the distinction of having the highest average among her teammates.
