Michael G. Pigott, of Bethpage, passed away suddenly at age 46 on Dec. 1, 2005. Husband and friend of Ginamarie. Father of Michael Anthony, Joseph and Kayla. Son of Margaret and son-in-law of John and Marie Yodice. Brother of David, Christopher, Gerald, Mary and Stephen. Woodrow W. Lang, of Bethpage, died on Dec. 3, 2005. He graduated from Farmingdale High School and completed two years of study in naval architecture at NY University while working as a shipfitter at Sullivan Ship Yards on East Ninth St., Manhattan. He met the mailtrain in Bethpage while working for the Post Office, and eventually retired from the Bethpage Water District. He saw military service at Camp Stoneman, CA. Woodrow was an avid gardener and fruit tree specialist, attending apple conventions for many years in Geneva, NY. He loved spontaneous road trips and map reading. Predeceased in 1990 by his wife Judith. Father and father-in-law of Ellen Lang, Diane and David Henkel, Douglas and Maureen Lang. Brother of Donald, and his wife Marilyn. Grandfather of five. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. A Religious service was held at the funeral home. Interment took place Dec. 8 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Ruth M. Blazek (nee Poole), of Farmingdale, died on Dec. 4, 2005. Predeceased by her husbands, Rudolph Steuber and Edward Blazek. Mother of Helen Steuber, Dona Marchi and Deb Smalley. Rita Chonin Amchin passed away on Dec. 7, 2005 in Louisville, KY, after a long battle with Scleroderma and heart disease. She was a longtime resident and kindergarten teacher in the Farmingdale School District. She was raised in Woodridge in the Catskill mountains of New York. She and her husband had moved to Florida and then more recently to Louisville to be closer to family. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher, she is survived by husband, Abe; sons Jess and Robert; two daughters-in-law, Lori and Deborah; six grandchildren, Shirin, Arielle, Ron, Benjamin, Miriam and Daniel; and many loving and loved nieces, nephews and friends and family. Funeral services were held at Herman Meyer & Son Funeral home in Louisville, KY on Dec. 11. Donations in her memory may be sent to the Scleroderma Foundation, or charity of your choice.
