Water Monitoring System, Public Hearings Discussed at Trustees Meeting
Prior to the start of the Nov. 29 Farmingdale Village Trustees meeting Mayor George Graf was wrapping up a discussion with Cub Scout Pack 57 and Boy Scout Troop 261. The children attended the board meeting as part of attaining their Citizenship Patch.

Village Hosts Annual Holiday Tree Lighting
The Village of Farmingdale held its Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. The event takes place each year at the Village Green, where the lighting of the tricentennial tree takes place. The event is sponsored by the village and the Farmingdale Bethpage Historical Society, in cooperation with the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale. Each year a choral group from the Farmingdale School District performs a selection of holiday songs accompanied by the South Shore Jazz Ensemble. This year the Howitt Sixth-Grade Chorus performed. Village Historian William Johnston once again served as the event's emcee. The Kiwanis Club provided hot drinks and cookies after the event.

FHS Grad Inducted Into LI High School Football Hall of Fame
The Nassau County Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) honored local high school scholar-athletes and the new inductees of the Long Island High School Football Hall of Fame at its annual awards brunch ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Dec. 4, according to Leonard Genova, president of the Nassau and Suffolk County Chapters.

Registration Information
St. Kilian CYO will be holding registration for their upcoming spring Boys Baseball/Girls Softball program on Friday, Dec. 16 in the St Kilian auditorium lobby located on Cherry Street in Farmingdale, from 7 to 9 p.m. Local girls in grades five through 12 and boys in grades five through eight, are encouraged to sign up to play in the CYO travel league. The total cost due at the time of registration is $130. This fee includes $30 in prepaid raffle books. Sibling discounts are available.
