First I would like to say, that this letter is long overdue. I have known Joe Trudden professionally and personally for over 20 years.
Professionally, I have observed Joe Trudden for 12 years as mayor of the Village of Farmingdale. I have seen Farmingdale revitalized. I have seen stores that were empty for years come to life with business. I have seen the village itself transformed into an area we all can be proud of. The new businesses and restaurants have attracted people from all over.
I have also known Joe as a businessman. When I experienced a very difficult time during the breakup of my first marriage, Joe gave me a much needed part-time job at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home. During the time I spent at McCourt & Trudden I witnessed how caring Joe was with all the people he came in contact with. Joe would help anybody who needed it whether it was financially or just being there for them.
On a personal level I have known Joe and Rosemary Trudden as friends, friends you could count on anytime for anything. Few know how Joe and his family have suffered the past few months with the misinformation that has been printed about him. Yet, he still walks with his head held high. Joe is a man I have admired and respected for a long time and I am proud to be one of his friends.
