Pauline V. Nessler (nee Abramoske), of E. Islip, died on Sept. 3, 2005. She was born Oct. 13, 1906 in Cavlerton. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Edward. Mother of Mary Hunold, Dorothy Preves, Barbara DeMilo and son-in-law Byron DiMilo. Grandmother of Lynne Henze, Joyce Multer, Diane Preves, Karl DeMilo, Kristine Dmilo and the late James Eberling. Great-grandmother of Angelique Parker, Kenneth Multer Jr., Paul Multer, Brenda Henze, Sheri Floge, Jonathan Noack, David Noack and Samuel Noack. Great-great-grandmother of Althea Floge. Also survived by her sisters, Libby Titus, Alice Acompora, Helen McGunningle. She was predeceased by seven sisters and seven brothers. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Rose Nelson, of S. Farmingdale, died on Aug. 31, 2005. Wife of the late John. Mother of Richard. Also survived by many other family members and friends. Arrangements were made by the McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale. Religious service held at the funeral home. Interment LI National Cemetery.

John Otto Wagner Jr., a resident of Hawthorne, NJ, formerly of Farmingdale, died on Sept. 9, 2005 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He was 90 years old. He was born March 15, 1915 in Astoria to John O. and Anna (Belz) Wagner Sr. He was a second generation college graduate (St. Lawrence, 1938). His careers spanned Grumman Aircraft, Sunrise Federal S&L as director and appraiser, 37 years and owner of Wagner's Farmingdale Feed Co. from 1945 to 1962. Recognized for his good cheer, he was an active community member, helping to found the Farmingdale Little League. He was more than a 56-year leader of the Masons, Royal Arcanum and Rotary International, serving as Governor's Aide and receiving the Paul Harris Fellow award. His love for golf began in high school, caddying at Lenox Hill CC, Bethpage; his golf highlight was being a finalist in the 1978 and 1979 US Life Tournament of Champions.

John was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 64 years, Mabel Buchsbaum. Survivors include his four children, Mibs Wagner of Fort Lee, NJ, Janice Gerhard (Fred) of Toms River, NJ, Robin Smith of Ramsey, NY, and John R. Sr. (Marye) of Clinton, CT; his grandchildren, Janet Lynn O'Sullivan, Katherin Nukk-Freeman, Frederick Gerhard Jr., Randall Nukk, Kristine Nukk Karelis and John Jr., Thomas, Courtney and Sarah Wagner; great-grandchildren, Judge Patrick, Erin Margaret, Katie Lynn, Erin Marissa, Cole Wagner, Alyssa Marie, Brynn Dulligan and Madeline Kelly; and his sister Ann Spang of Florida.

Arrangements were made by the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville. Rev. Richard Hong of the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood, NJ, officiated at the funeral service. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Grace E. Marotta, of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Bethpage, died on Sept. 9, 2005. Wife of the late Nicholas. Mother of Marilyn McNeill (John). Grandmother of Zeses and Toula Patras. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Prayer service at the funeral home. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. John G. Berberich, of Bayshore, died on Sept. 10, 2005. Uncle of Karen (Herg) Trommer. Also survived by many other family members and friends. Arrangements were made by the McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale. Religious services held at the funeral home. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Patricia R. Urso, of Manahawkin, NJ, formerly of Melville, died suddenly on Sept. 13, 2005 at the age of 35. Wife of Peter. Mother of Brandon. Daughter of Daniel and Marlene Martin. Granddaughter of Marie Viscusi. Sister of Dania (Robert ) Sauer. Also survived by her aunts and uncles, Rosemarie and Bob Steinmetz, Patricia and Jimmy Gerakaris; nieces and nephews, Danielle, Jenna, Bobby, Nicky and Brianna; and cousins, Dawn Marie and Thomas Germpel, Patrick and Kathy Gerakaris. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, Huntington Station. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park. Edward R. Busse, 83, of Bethpage, died on Sept. 13, 2005 after a long bout with prostate cancer. He spent three years overseas with the US Army during WWII. He was a retired longtime Grumman employee. He leaves his wife, Margaret; daughters, Deborah (Al), Kimberly (Michael) and son, David (Rose). Also survived by his grandchildren, Allison, Shawn, Kelly and Jake. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Cremation private.
