Farmingdale Board of Education Swears in New Trustee
A new school year has brought a new face to the Farmingdale Board of Education. On Sept. 14, Shari Bardash-Eivers, a 16-year resident of Farmingdale, was sworn-in as a trustee at the regular board meeting.

Farmingdale Fire Department Hosts Fund-raiser for Hurricane Victims
On Saturday Sept. 10, the Farmingdale Fire Department held a Lemonade Sale and collected donations to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The fire department took over Main Street soliciting donations from motorists and pedestrians on Main Street.

Flag Football - Week 1
The Jets beat the Vikings 28-14 powered by an outstanding offensive performance by Christina Lopilato. Christina scored three times including a 70 yard run from scrimmage on the first play of the game. Andrea Lopilato added a two point conversion with an end around run. Maggie Fleming scored a touchdown and added a two point conversion as well. Maddie Reilly had two nice plays on the ground for about 20 yards.

Over the Hill Softball Report
Week two of OTH Year End Tournament had a couple of surprises, the biggest being top seed Synergy falling to Moby Drugs. The win gave seventh seed Moby a commanding 2-0 record in their bracket with complete control of their destiny. The other upset came from the same bracket as twelfth seed Bar Boy thumped sixth seed Granny O'Sheas. Granny's had put together a year end surge that appeared to give them momentum going into the tourney but certainly hasn't materialized as they fell to 0-2 while Bar Boy improved to 1-1. The bracket winner will come down to Bar Boy's game with bracket leader Moby on Tuesday.
