Farmingdale Boy Attacked, Robbed by Group of Teens
A week before his 13th birthday in July, a Howitt Middle School student received a brand new bicycle from his parents as a gift. A few days later it was stolen by a group of teenagers while he was riding it to Allen Park.

Farmingdale Community Summit Celebrates Main Street USA
Last year it was Broadway on Main. This year the Farmingdale Community Summit's successful summer fundraiser Main Street USA featured memorable Disney melodies. Representatives of the organizations that make up the Farmingdale Community Summit enjoyed a full dinner at Terry G's Restaurant on Main St. while Disney tunes were sung by Gina Sabellico and Brian Kroll. Sabellico and Kroll invited all to singalong to favorite songs such as When You Wish Upon A Star, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and The Mickey Mouse Club song. Over $700 raised at the event will go into the Farmingdale Families in Need fund. The Summit is dedicated to the mission of a coming together of residents, organizations, merchants and houses of worship in the Farmingdale School District for the common good of all.

Golden Lions Return to Sports Festival on September 10
The Columbus Lodge #2143 Golden Lions (CL) will be participating in the 11th Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival, for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Cantaigue Park in Hicksville. The Golden Lions returns to this year's Sports Festival (SF) as defending softball champs. This will be the team's eighth straight appearance in this charity event.

It looks like Granny O'Sheas is finally stringing together fine defense play and a strong offense over the course of the last three games, playing more like they expected to. This past Friday's matchup versus Singletons was a battle between the two teams that were tied for fourth place heading into this contest.
