She was born in Freeport on March 27, 1935 to Ethel and Robert Honeyman. Surviving are her husband Gilbert Martin; four children, Debbie and Paul Willemann of Virginia, Robert and Beth Martin of New Jersey, Christopher Martin of Apex, NC, and Jennifer and Todd Lyden of Benson, NC; and her mother Ethel Honeyman McBride of Plainview; her brother R.D. Honeyman and Donna and Brian of Gaithersburg, MD; and 11 grandchildren. Joan Roach, of Lindenhurst, died unexpectedly on May 4, 2005.
