Margaret Jagoe, of Cambridge, NY, and Little River, SC, passed away on March 29, 2005 at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC, after a brief illness. She was born on Dec. 21, 1918 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Henry Zeeb and Sophie Pieplow Zeeb. She grew up in Farmingdale and graduated from Farmingdale High School. After working for insurance firms and the NY Telephone Company, she married William E. Jagoe in Hicksville on March 22, 1953. They resided in Farmingdale for many years. They built a summer home on Lake Lauderdale, near Cambridge in the early 1960s and moved there permanently in 1976.
Marge and Bill were partners in the development of Lake Lauderdale Campgrounds and later owned and operated the Salem Liquor Store in Salem, NY, during the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, they wintered in the Myrtle Beach area and owned a home in Little River. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and served as president of VFW Post 516 Chapter in Farmingdale. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Farmingdale.
She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Deaton of Sun City, FL, and a brother, Henry Zeeb. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William E.; her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Rose Jagoe of Augusta, GA; and one grandson, William P. Jagoe. A memorial service will be held in the Cambridge area at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Barney A. Adamo, 81, lifelong resident of Farmingdale, died on April 9, 2005. He was a former Park Ranger at Bethpage State Park. Husband of Angela (nee Posillico). He was predeceased by his parents, Crispino and Antonina (Giammarino) Adamo. Brother of Katherine D'Aloisio (deceased), Rose Sawzak and Joseph Adamo (deceased). Theresa Gabriel (nee Greco), of Farmingdale, died on April 12, 2005. Wife of the late Harry. Mother of May Ann Tchinnis, Michael Gabriel and Jeannette Mohamed. Sister of Jane Safford, Stella Lepera, the late Rita Lund, Charles Greco, Vincent Greco and the late Louis Greco. Grandmother of eight. Great-grandmother of seven. Marie C. Rich, of Plainview, died on April 12, 2005. She served during WWII as a nurse in the Women's Army Corp (WAC). Wife of the late Harold C. Mother and mother-in-law of Jean R. Rich, Catherine Crennan, William and Vickie Rich and Carol and Robert Plaut. Grandmother of Kimberly, Christopher, Daniel, Nicole, Kristen, Katie, Matthew and Robie.
