The Farmingdale Community Summit Council will be holding its third annual Expo on Thursday, April 21 at the Farmingdale High School gym from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the many organizations and businesses in our community. You can personally meet with many of the leaders and members of the organizations that make our community so special and see which organization you may want to join. The village is proud to be a charter member of the Summit, and we look forward to speaking with you at our table.
In addition to the service and sports organizations, there will representatives from many of the health organizations, doctors, hospitals and wellness providers. Many of them are offering various free screenings. Various merchants from the community will also be on hand to discuss and demonstrate their services and products. This year, thanks to the generosity of our local youth sports groups (Farmingdale Baseball League, Farmingdale PAL, Farmingdale Soccer and the Farmingdale Titans), there will be an interactive sports area set up in the commons. Children of all ages will be able to try their luck in various sports skill games. All proceeds will go to the Summit so they can continue to provide programs and assistance to our community.
While the event is not in the village proper, the Summit serves all of the communities that comprise the Farmingdale School District, of which the village is a vital part. I urge all members of our community to come and experience this wonderful event. It is truly a time for all us to get together and learn more about each other and really see why the area that makes up the Farmingdale School District is so unique.
