The Run was staged by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with GLIRC stalwarts Vinny Croce and Bob Sherman serving as the director and assistant director respectively once again.
The proceeds of the 2005 Caumsett 50 Kilometer Run were dedicated to the Jake Brower Fund: "A Miracle in Progress" that is administered by the "Kids Helping Kids" organization. Jake, a Massapequa youngster, has suffered through a brain cyst and post-surgical complications that included a fungal infection and a series of strokes that have left him seriously ill, and has left the Brower family with medical bills that are now in the millions of dollars.
