Farmingdale has been fortunate to have had many fine mayors over the years and the current holder of the office is continuing in that tradition.
Having held a public office myself for many years, I can only imagine the evenings and weekends when a mayor has to be somewhere, when he would rather be somewhere else. A banner that was strung on Main Street said it all, hailing the town as the best. Joe Trudden was the mayor for a long time, besides being a retired police office who served with honor, a community leader and devoted Rotarian. A successful businessman and surely a substantial taxpayer, who would understand the need for a vital Main Street.
Recently, Joe was called to defend some expense issues while in office. I don't know much about the problem, if any, that confronts him, but I am certain that many of us have seen and been accustomed to only fine exploits and will wish him well.
