Eugene W. "Gene" Albertson, 75, formerly of Bethpage, died on Jan. 25, 2005. A US Navy veteran of WWII, Gene moved to Stuart, FL, in 1977. He retired after 25 years of employment of Grumman Aerospace, Bethpage, and 11 additional years in Stuart. He was a volunteer fireman and two-term ex-chief of the Bethpage Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife, Fran Albertson of Stuart; daughter Jeanne Hance of Bethpage; son Edward Albertson of Florida; two stepdaughters, Rita Bove of Florida and Kimberly Grooms of Florida. Grandfather of Tammy (Joseph), Tracey (Robert), Tiffany (Joe), Thomas (Christina) and Lily. Great-grandfather of Jackie, Kayla and Nancy. He was predeceased in 1985 by his wife Dorothy. David Benson, longtime resident of Levittown, died peacefully at home on Feb. 5, 2005 with his brother Dennis by his side. David was a reference librarian at the East Meadow Library.
