Republic Airport Commission Holds Meeting
It was a night of hellos and goodbyes at the Farmingdale Republic Airport Commission meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14. While the board gladly welcomed Molloy College as the new tenants of their "Mini Terminal" building, they sadly said farewell to Stephen Williams, who has served as airport manager for the past 11 years.

Schumer: Over $50,000 Coming to South Farmingdale Fire Department
Senator Charles E. Schumer announced over $50,000 in federal funds for the South Farmingdale Fire Department to pay for fire operations and fire safety. The funds are being awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Local Athletes Score in Annual 5K Run
Twenty-one-year-old Westbury speedster Adam Zimmerman out kicked Kevin Cunningham of Old Bethpage and Guillermo Fuentes of Fresh Meadows to finish in first place overall in the 17th annual edition of the Carter, DeLuca, Farrell & Schmidt Ho Ho Ho Holiday 5 Kilometer Run through the roads of Bethpage.

First Half of Farmingdale State Basketball Season Wrap Up
The Men's and Women's Basketball players at Farmingdale State have received many awards this semester for their exceptional performances on the court. As the fall semester comes to an end, the women's team is 6-2 overall, 4-0 Skyline while the men's team stands at 5-3, 2-0 Skyline. For the week of December 20th, four of our student-athletes picked up Player and Rookie of the Week honors in our respective conferences and were also named to the Honor Roll for the Met Basketball Writer's Association.
